CREATIVE TEAM
RICHARD RUSH, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
As Executive Producer, Richard Rush brings a staggering wealth of
experience to MotoXtreme. Described by critics as a cinematic "virtuoso"
and "alchemist," Richard has worked with and inspired many of the greatest
artists in the film industry over the course of his forty-five year career.
In the 1960s Richard established himself as a hard-working, innovative
director by helming eight films in as many years and helping to launch the
careers of Jack Nicholson, Francis Ford Coppola and many other major
filmmakers. He mastered the process of shooting on a short schedule and
limited budget, consistently turning in films that generated hefty grosses
and loyal audiences and inspired imitation from independents and studios
alike.
Rush's career revved into overdrive with Getting Straight (1970) and
the famously popular Freebie and the Bean (1974), the film which established
the buddy-cop genre. But Rush's greatest success came with The Stunt Man
(1980), for which he earned Academy Award nominations for writing and
directing, as well as universal critical acclaim and the fanatical following
of a new generation of moviegoers.
The Stunt Man's acclaimed star, Peter O'Toole, remarked that he had
"learned more from Mr. Rush than I've learned from anyone else since David
Lean - he does what poets do." While visiting the United States in 1981,
the legendary French director Francois Truffaut was asked, "Who is your
favorite American director?" He answered, "I don't know his name, but I saw
his film last night - it was called The Stunt Man."
Following the release of his last directorial effort -- the Bruce Willis erotic
thriller Color of Night -- Rush turned his attention to developing
several projects as director and producer. In addition to MotoXtreme,
Rush has written and is packaging The Fat Lady - a dark and
comic look at our government's secret war on drugs - and Thunder
Cave - a family drama set in Africa.
TONY RUSH, WRITER/DIRECTOR
Tony was literally born into filmmaking, as the son of prominent
filmmaker and two-time Academy Award-nominated director Richard Rush
and writer Doris Rush Taylor. Tony majored in Acting and Directing
in college, and during his twenties he studied acting with professional
coaches and worked as an actor and part-time stuntman in episodic
television and supporting roles in features.
He then worked briefly for a commercial production company before
starting his own video-assist company where he worked on hundreds
of commercials as well as feature films. While working on big-budget
studio projects like Twister (Warner Bros), Waterworld
(Universal), Clear And Present Danger (Paramount), The
Jungle Book (Disney), and Color of Night (Cinergi) among
others, he had the unique opportunity to interact with top directors
on a moment-to-moment basis and thus study a variety of directing
styles.
Among many commercial credits, Tony directed Angie Everhart and Marc
Singer in the Bud Light commercial “Chick Flick” for E-Motion
Films. He has also helmed the second unit on several films, including
Street Corner Justice (Cinetel), starring Marc Singer and
Steve Railsback.
In addition to his success behind the camera, Village Roadshow produced
Tony’s screenplay Love Lies Bleeding – a historical
thriller about Jack the Ripper, starring Faye Dunaway and Malcolm
McDowell. Along with being the sole writer on the project, Tony was
a Co-Producer and Second Unit Director.

which he wrote, produced and directed, won numerous awards, including
the Gold Award at WorldFest Houston and the Grand Jury Award at the
New York International Film and Video Festival. Cramer also associate-produced
Beverly Hills Brats, starring Martin Sheen and Whoopi Goldberg,
and executive-produced the all-star music video "Wake Up, America."
